Obituary

Kim, our sister, mother, daughter and friend, born April 12, 1964 in Allentown PA, is off onto her next adventure. She had the joy of growing up as the youngest daughter of three girls born to Stella (Zaharias) and Richard Baumer.  Richard decided to call it quits back in 2000.  Her older sisters, Michele Weiss (married to Dale) and Kathy Elison (still single), will miss their younger sis dearly. They most definitely did not give Kim permission to leave in advance of them, but Kim needed the peace and rest that only heaven can provide. Her niece, Hope Davis & family, and nephews, Brandon, Cody and Travis (and their families) will also miss the humor, vivacious laughter, and love of their beloved Aunt Kim. Kim brought into this world her sweet boy, Stephen Stanley Smith II (married to JulieAnna), in August 1980.  He is a fine young man who blessed Kim with a grandson, Stephen Stanley Smith III, on February 7, 2009.

Kim's talents and favorite things: She loved the color orange. She had a unique artistic ability to design her personal interiors with welcoming warmth and an open door to friends, family and neighbors.  She enjoyed cooking and presenting dishes with elegance and style.  Her traditional scavenger hunts brought family together in pursuit of funny & unique objects, and always ending in a picnic at her home with karaoke and lots of laughter.

Kim lived her life in Pennsylvania.  Being 50% Greek, her love of Samos, Greece where her mother grew up, was always dear to her heart.  It was important to Kim to rest with our grandmother, Katina Zaharias, in the beautiful monastery of Zoodochos Pigi.  Located high on the island of Samos, overlooking the tranquil turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, we will journey with Kim and fulfill her longtime wishes to rest in eternity in this most amazing land.

Kim's wishes would be for folks to donate to the Lehigh County Humane Society (640 Dixon St., Allentown PA 18103) and/or St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem PA 18018 in lieu of flowers.
