Kathleen Steinke, 76, of Macungie, died February 2, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Helmut Steinke.  Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Kortvely) and Samuel Charnegie, Sr. She was a hairdresser and owned The Hair Loft in Emmaus since 1999.  She was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Trexlertown.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Denise M. Karll of Macungie, Mark A. Steinke and wife Laura of Macungie, Nathan H. Steinke and wife Beth of Macungie, and Erika M. Steinke fiancée of Michael Nailon of Macungie; grandchildren, Leigha Steinke, Alesha Steinke, and Vincent Salabsky; brothers, Samuel Charnegie, Jr. and Charlie Charnegie; sisters, Rose Nyemscek and Melody Casey.  She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Hamm.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM in St. Peter's Union Church, 7863 St. Peter's Road, Macungie.  Visitation 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the church.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
