Kathleen "Katie" Nowak, age 79, of Emmaus, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. She was born September 30, 1943 in East Sussex, England and moved to Gaspe, Quebec, Canada in childhood. She lived in Montreal, Quebec before moving to the Lehigh Valley with her husband and two sons. She was the daughter of Joseph Alfred and Marian Kathleen (Regan) Lucas. Katie had a passion for gardening and loved spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She was the co-owner and operator of an antiques and crafts business, for which she sold homemade greeting cards, and was gifted with a talent for photography.

Survivors: Her husband of 57 years Lutz Nowak, her son Michael Nowak, spouse Karen Collis, grandchildren Roland and Liam Nowak, and her son Norman Nowak, spouse Mare Nowak and grandchildren Tabitha and Lucas Nowak all of Emmaus; brother Wilfred and spouse Deborah Lucas of Kingston, Ontario; sister-in-law Karola Nowak of St Jacques, Quebec. Katie is preceded in death by her brothers Alfred and Camille Lucas; daughter-in-law Samantha Griggs.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St, Emmaus.  Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Katie's name to Alzheimer's research or Animals in Distress.
