Obituary

Judith Elaine Parker, 79, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.   She was born outside Cleveland Ohio and arrived in Emmaus, PA in 2000.

Judy was a graduate of Purdue University and Columbia University. Her vocation as a Teacher and Professor of Physics, Astronomy and Adult Leadership was Judy's passion. For the past 20+ years she taught at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA and Columbia University in New York city and on occasion, Penn State – Berks Campus and Kutztown University. She was dedicated to her student's success.  Judy served on the Upper Milford Planning Commission. Also active with the Historic 1803 House in Emmaus and Lehigh Valley Amateur Astronomical Society.  Judy served as a lector at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Bally, PA.

Prior to her coming to PA, she worked for 3M in St. Paul Minnesota in research and development, designing training programs.

Judy had a particular desire to encourage women in science.  She initiated a Women in Science program at 3M.  She also enjoyed traveling the world as she worked and taught her students and colleagues.

When Judy was not teaching, she enjoyed her antiques and her 160+ year old home, surrounded a beautiful landscape of tall trees and flowering gardens.  Attending concerts by Allentown Symphony, Sartori and Lenape Chamber Ensemble gave Judy great joy.

Judy is survived by a sister, Betty Zak of Strongsville, Ohio. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marie Korpowski of Ohio and a daughter, Renee Michelle Parker.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held Sunday November 6, 2022 from 1:30 -2:30 in the Muhlenberg College Chapel on Muhlenberg Campus.  Music to start at 1:15.  Light refreshments will be served after the service.
