Joseph A. Wenzel Sr., of Emmaus, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Zednik) Wenzel, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born at St. Luke's in Fountain Hill on August 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph John and Anna (Oster) Wenzel.

Joe spent many years serving the community in the automotive departments of Two Guys from Harrison, Hess's, JC Penney, and TBA Supply Company. He retired from Mallinkrodt Pharmaceuticals, though retirement simply allowed him to transition into his favorite "job."

One of Joe's greatest passions was hunting for bargains and bartering at local yard sales. Whether he was scouting for baskets, frames, coins, or guns, Joe was always looking to add to his collection of treasures. It wasn't always about scoring a good deal; Joe's real passion was finding friends and striking up conversation with fellow yard salers. Joe was also an avid outdoorsman and found great joy in hunting and fishing. His greatest love was his family. Known affectionately as "PopPop" by his grandchildren, he was a constant, warm presence in their lives.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathleen; his children: Joseph Wenzel Jr., Lisa Schoch and husband David, Christine Conway, and Stephanie Krasley; and his sister, Joanne Redding. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Biale.

"PopPop" will be deeply missed by his nine grandchildren: Justin (Patti) Conway, Allison (Ben) Schaffer, Heather (Tom) Hinkel, Kelsey (Dan) DeAngelo, Holli Schoch, Tanner Schoch, Brandon Krasley, Elizabeth Krasley, and Emily Krasley; as well as his 10 cherished great-grandchildren.

Services: At the request of the family, services will be private.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joseph's memory.
