Joseph R. Hallman, Jr., 76, of Emmaus, died June 2, 2024 in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown Campus.  He was the husband of Barbara L. (Zacharda) Hallman.  Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Eleanor J. (Katz) and Joseph R. Hallman, Sr.  He honorably served his country in the Navy during Vietnam.  He worked as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Heavy Forge for many years, retiring in 2010.  He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Zionsville.  He was also a member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus.

Joseph will be remembered by his wife of 44 ½ years, Barbara; children, James Saeger, Jr. and wife Joan, Marcie Shumway and companion Matthew Hinkle, and Christopher Hallman; grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Shumway and Sylvia Bega Hallibelle; sister, Debra wife of Milt Brown.  He was predeceased by a brother, David Hallman and granddaughter, Talia Shumway.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
