John J. Sweeney, Sr. John J. Sweeney, Sr., 70, of Emmaus, died August 31, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the widow of GeorJean E. (Heft) Sweeney. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Sweeney. He worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for the former Allentown State Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus. Survivors: Son, John J. Sweeney, Jr. of Emmaus; Daughter, Janis J. Sweeney of Emmaus; Brother, Thomas Sweeney of Lansdale; Sister, Elizabeth Long of Lansdale; Granddaughters, Haley and Noel. Services: Funeral Services private at the convenience of the family.
