John P. Robertson, 84, of Emmaus, died April 2, 2024 in his residence.  He was the husband of the late Virginia S. (Sommer) Robertson.  Born in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Helen (Walker) Robertson.  John started his career as a funeral director in Youngstown, OH.  Later he worked as a purchasing agent for Rodale Manufacturing.  He went on to become a manufacturer's representative for Charles H. Gardner Co., which in 1976, he purchased and moved the business to Emmaus, retiring in 2016.  He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus.  John was a longtime member of the Optimist Club International, serving as past president.  He was active in the boat crew reenactment at Washington Crossing since 1975.  He enjoyed his ROMEOS time and ate daily at the Trivet in Emmaus and Wert's Café.  John was an avid woodworker, reader, and enjoyed the outdoors and photography.  He loved traveling and camping, especially to Chincoteague Island.

John is survived by his son, Jonathan P. Robertson and wife Priscilla of Emmaus; daughters, Jennifer R. wife of Stephen Wenzel of Blandon, Nancy B. wife of Ben Queen of Newport Beach, CA, and Heather A. wife of Thomas Walpole of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren, Bradley Wenzel and wife Morgan, Devin Wenzel and wife Gabrielle, Hadley Queen, and Calvin Robertson; brother, David Robertson and wife Elizabeth of Petaluma, CA.

Funeral services will be held on Tues., April 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Viewing 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie.
