John D. Reiss, 60, of Emmaus, died March 26, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital.  He was the husband of Tammy (Mohr) Reiss.  Born in Emmaus, he was the son of Leanna H. (Bittenbender) Reiss and the late Bruce C. Reiss.  John worked for the Borough of Emmaus in the public works department for 41 years.  He was a firefighter for Emmaus Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.  He enjoyed camping and sitting around the campfire and loved spending time with his family, but especially loved his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tammy; mother, Leanna of Emmaus; son, Kyle Reiss and wife Nicole of Emmaus; daughter, Katie wife of John March of Macungie; grandchildren, Shiann, Caleb, Samantha, and Abigail; brothers, Douglas Reiss and wife Lori of Alburtis, Jeffrey Reiss of Emmaus, and Richard Reiss and wife Susan of Emmaus; nieces and nephews.

A funeral service with fireman's honors will be held on Mon., March 29, 2021 at 7:30 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Viewing 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the funeral home.    Private interment in Northwood Cemetery.
