John F. Kennedy John F. Jack Kennedy, 75, of Zionsville, formerly of Doylestown, died August 30, 2008 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Janice E. (Palsgrove) Kennedy. They celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on March 23, 2008. Born in Springfield, Delaware County, he was the son of the late Francis P. and Florence (Cameron) Kennedy. He was a 1951 graduate of Doylestown High School, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams and was the captain of the rifle team. He was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University School of Forestry and Ornamental Horticulture. He was the owner of John F. Kennedy Associates, a landscape design firm, in Lambertville, NJ from 1970 to 2000. As a landscape architect, he did a great deal of work for Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, the College of New Jersey, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Bryn Mawr Hospital to name a few. He also owned a nursery business and grew Christmas trees for many years. He was a life member of the NRA, former member of the Doylestown Twp. Planning Commission, the Bucks County Park Commission and was instrumental in the planning of Tohickon Valley Park and Peace Valley Park. He was an avid hunter, especially at the family property in Potter County. He was a strong quiet man with a dry sense of humor who loved his family. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors: Wife; Son, Scott Kennedy and wife Frances of Quakertown; Daughter, Lynn wife of Joe Roberts of Coopersburg; Stepdaughters, Allison DiStefano of Ambler and Jill DiStefano of Hollywood, CA; Sister, Helen Truscott of Oxford, NC and Marjorie wife of Boyd Weston of Merrimack, NH; Grandchildren, Nicole and Joe Roberts, Jr.; beloved labrador retriever, Shale.
