John E. Corbett John E. Corbett, 89, of Emmaus, died May 23, 2007 in New Seasons at Mountain View. He was the husband of Martha S. Virginia Corbett. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary in April 2007. Born in Northumberland, he was the son of the late Scott J. and Margaret (Colt) Corbett. He was a graduate of Harrisburg Academy and Amhurst College. He worked for General Motors starting in the Pontiac Division and then transferred to the GMC Truck and Coach Division, working for 27 years, retiring in 1980. After retirement, he joined his wife in the antique business. He honorably served his country as a Bomber Pilot in the 8th Air Force, flying 35 missions while stationed in Norwich, England. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War as a Motor Pool Officer on the Nousseur Air Force Base in French Morocco. He was a charter member and past president of the Emmaus Historical Society, member of the Allentown Stamp Club, and volunteered for Lehigh County Meals on Wheels. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Scott J. Corbett and wife Pat of Ellicott City, MD and John K. Corbett of Richmond, MA; Grandchildren, Christopher Corbett and Liza Bliss; 3 Great Grandchildren.
