John D. Arndt, 88, of Macungie, died July 1, 2023 in St. Luke's Hospital Allentown Campus.  He was the husband of Gayle L. (Stamm) Arndt.  Born in Robesonia, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ida (Christman) Arndt.  John worked as a supervisor for Lehigh Valley Dairy and as a supervisor for Stroh's Brewing Company, retiring in 2000.  He later worked parttime for Macungie's Posey Patch.  He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., Alburtis, where he served on consistory for 17 years and many other committees.  He was a life member of Nimrod Fish and Wildlife Association, Alburtis Rod and Gun Club, Alburtis Lions Club, Alburtis Senior Citizens, and member at a local Groundhog Lodge.

John is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Gayle; children, John D. Arndt, Jr. and wife Andrea of Franklin, TN, Scott R. Arndt and wife Rita of Dumfries, VA, Debra L. wife of Lamar Hallman of Macungie, Michael P. Arndt of Norwich, CT, and Sherrie L. wife of Alan Carl of Mertztown; 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.  He was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth and Raymond Arndt and sister, Florence Bailey.

Memorial services will be held on Sun., July 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., 135 Quarry Rd., Alburtis, PA 18011.  Private interment will be in Western Salisbury Cemetery.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
