Obituary

Jean L. Krause, 95, of Country Meadows, formerly of Ormond Beach, FL, went home to the Lord on Jan. 30, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (nee Long) and Willard Warmkessel of Allentown.  She graduated from Allentown High School Class of 1944.  Later she attended Business seminars in Philadelphia, New York City, and Canada.

She met her husband, Earl S. Krause, in high school when he noticed her with the cheerleading squad while he sat on the football bench.  After he returned home from the Navy, they were married in 1947.

She played tennis and golf, but her real love was dancing.  Under the directions of the Guide Dance Studio, she danced in the Municipal Opera Company's production of "Babes in Toyland".  She also danced in the late Walter Marc's Dance Studio Review.  When she danced solo, she was known as Jeanne Castle.  When she danced with her partner, the late Billy Fryman, they were known as the Delmars.  After her father's demise, "Willard the Magician" (who was assisted by all the members of the family, performing magic and illusions along the Eastern Coast) she developed her own night club magic act (much to the delight of the mother) and was known as "Jeanne and Her Magic", entertaining around Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  On July 18, 2020, the International Brotherhood of Magicians named her to member ship in "The Order of Merlin Excalibur".

She worked as an executive assistant in the executive offices of Gulf & Western Industries, Inc. prior to forming Krause R-Bar Service, Inc. together with her husband.

She was past president of National Secretaries Association (International), past president of Allentown Patriots Auxiliary, member of International Brotherhood of Magicians (Order of Merlin Shield), Magicians Alliance of Eastern States, Christ Lighthouse Presbyterian Church, former member of Oceanside Country Club, former member of Anne Penn Allen Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, former member American Contract Bridge League.

Jean is survived by her nieces, Maryellen Iobst and Barbara Hartcorn.  She was predeceased by a husband Earl S. Krause, Jr., brother, Bill and sisters, Miriam Lick and Lucille Costello.

Interment will be made at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangement.
