Jean E. Jarrett, age 94, of Allentown formerly of Slatington, passed away on August 2, 2023 in Heather Glen Senior Living in Allentown. She was the loving wife of the late Homer R. Jarrett with whom they shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Lucas) Shelhamer.

She graduated from Allentown High School in 1946. She worked at various retail stores, including the original Hess's Department Store in Allentown and Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance Company.

Jean enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, and listening to Big Band music.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Andrea L. Thomson and husband Ross and granddaughter, Logan Thomson and husband Nathan Bell. She is predeceased by brothers, Charles and Carl Shelhamer and sister, Lillian Schaeffer.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
