Jean G. Gemmel Jean G. Gemmel passed away on November 29, 2011, at the age of 92. She was born Jean Gertrude Hahn in Philadelphia, on May 29, 1919, to parents Gertrude and Lewis. As a child, she moved with her mother and brother Bill, to the Lehigh Valley, where she attended William Allen High School, Allentown Business School and met future husband, Harold Gemmel. Having inherited the strong work ethic of her mother and the creative intelligence of her father, Jean approached all of her interests with passion and perfection. She had and passed on a true appreciation for all things beautiful. In later years, Jean found comfort and supportive friendship in her church, Jerusalem Western Salisbury, where she was a dedicated member of the Ladies Aid Society quilting circle. Beautiful quilts will remain as tribute to her love of creating. She is lovingly missed by son Timothy and his wife, Ginny, daughter, Deborah, grandchildren, Christopher, Robert, Allison and Zachary, and great-grandchildren Delaney and Kai. Service: Funeral Service Sat., Dec. 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery.
