Obituary

Jayne M. Ritz Jayne M. Ritz, 71, of Jupiter, FL, formerly of Philadelphia, died December 21, 2007 in her home. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Beatrice (Flail) Moyer. She is survived by her sister and sister in-law, respectively Marty Ginty and Marie LaPlaca. Jayne was voted cutest girl in her 1954 graduating class at Pottsville High. Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart. Donald J. Ritz and Jayne had four children. After the unexpected death of her beloved husband, Jayne enrolled in nursing school at Alvernia College. Jayne enjoyed the city life while working as a nurse in Philadelphia. She loved to walk her dogs, visit the art museum with her grandchildren, and play bridge with her friends. She had a particular compassion for animals and cared for abandoned cats and dogs. Jayne was great at keeping in touch with people. She maintained lasting relationships with a few of her childhood friends throughout her life. She was a thoughtful woman who enjoyed holiday shopping for her grandkids and visiting with relatives. She will be missed by all of us.
