Janet A. Unser, 61, of Orefield, died April 4, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Dorothy M. (Snyder) Unser. Janet graduated from Kutztown University and earned her Master's in Education from Lehigh University. She was a teacher at Parkway Manor Elementary, Orefield Middle, Jefferson Elementary, and Hillside Schools. She belonged to Emmaus Moravian Church and was a proud member Grundsow Lodsch #13.

Survivors: Sons, Peter Maugle and wife Jennifer of Spotsylvania, VA and Alan Maugle and his girlfriend Winter of Trumbauersville; Daughter, Julie wife of Ross Zuercher of Albuquerque, NM; Brother, David Unser of Emmaus; Sisters, Eleanor Gaffey of Harrisburg and Susan LeVan of Laguna Hills, CA; Granddaughter, Abigial; her beloved miniature poodle, Charley.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Emmaus Moravian Church, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
