Iva M. Gingrich, age 93, of Allentown, passed away on March 2, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Crest Hospital in Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Nevin J. and Ethel F. (Merkel) Swavely. She was the loving wife of the late Carl C. Gingrich, Jr. with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

She graduated from Allen High School  and earned her Associates Degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at St. Luke's in Bethlehem.

Iva was an active member of Emmaus Moravian Church, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts leader, volunteer at Emmaus Public Library for over 30 years, Emmaus Women's Club - past president, active member of Lehigh Valley Couturiere Society and volunteer at East Penn School District. Iva was involved with various bridge clubs and started a rummy cube club in Luther Crest. She was also a part of the Luther Crest knitting club.

Iva is survived by her children, Cheryl Ferrich, Gilbert Gingrich and wife Cathy, and Janet Morkowchuk and husband Walter; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Arthur Swavely and sister, Rubie Cox.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 4:00 PM in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery, 111 Keystone Avenue, Emmaus, PA 18049. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Iva's memory to Emmaus Moravian Church, 148 Main Street, Emmaus, PA 18049 for the maintenance of the historical buildings.
