Irene O. Svrcek Irene O. Svrcek, 94, of Emmaus, died Sept. 19, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Ludwig F. Svrcek. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Kocis) Basko. She worked as a floor lady for Rodale Manufacturing and later Square D for 45 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church and its Womans Club and the JEDNOTA Slovak Society. She was a sweet and gentle soul, much loved by family and friends alike. She will be greatly missed. Survivors: Daughter, Maureen A. wife of William H. Hildebrant of Emmaus; Grandchildren, Andrew S. Hildebrant of Fort Collins, CO and Ellen R. wife of Brian J. Martin of Emmaus; Great Granddaughter, Madison E. Martin; Goddaughter, Leiana wife of Alan Wilson of Coopersburg and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Anna Labanz, Mary Vlahovic, John Basko, Josephine Tomasovic, Andrew Basko, and Anthony Basko. Services: Funeral Service Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main Street, Emmaus followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Anns Catholic Church, 415 South Sixth St., Emmaus. Viewing Wed. 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Thursday 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus.
