Irene A. McElroy Irene A. McElroy, 85, of Center Valley, died Sept. 6, 2009 at Wesley Village, Pittston surrounded by loved ones. She was the widow of the late Mahlon C. McElroy. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Schwartz) Krupa. She attended Cedar Crest College and was a graduate of St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for St. Lukes Hospital for 48 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Hope Community Church, Fogelsville, the 50 Plus Club, and the Traveling Seniors. She loved family gatherings, travel, dance, and trips to Atlantic City. Survivors: Son, John B. McElroy and wife Barbara of Pocono Lake; Daughters, Cheryl A. McElroy of Saugerties, NY, Cindy L. Kloss of Mesa, AZ, and Tracey J. wife of Gerald OHara of Kingston; Grandchildren, Amy, Brandon, Lindsay, Danielle, Josh, Katlin, and Joseph; Great Granddaughter, Skylar. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph J. Krupa. Services: Funeral Services Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM in Hope Community Church, 7974 Claussville Rd., Fogelsville. Viewing Wed. 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus and Thurs. 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in St. Marks Cemetery, Allentown.
