Irene H. Heffner, 88, of Macungie, passed away Feb. 7, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospice House.  She was the wife of Donald F. Heffner.  Born in Shanesville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mae (Haas) Reifsnyder and stepdaughter to the late Arlene (Shollenberger) Reifsnyder.  She retired from Macungie Fire Company as a cook in 1995.  She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, where she was a former council member, choir member, and Sunday School teacher.  She was a former Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout leader.  Irene was a member and past president of the Macungie Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Macungie VFW Ladies Auxiliary, member of Lower Lehigh Lions Club, AARP and Emmaus Senior Citizens.

Irene is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald; daughters, Donna Heffner and Greg Fiore of Longboat Key, FL, Terri wife of Ray Reeder of Bath, and Janice wife of Dennis Koch of Allentown; sons, Larry Heffner and wife Kathy of Macungie and Todd Heffner of Macungie; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers, Morris and George Reifsnyder.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Macungie Fire Team, Macungie Ambulance, Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, or St. Luke's Hospice.
