Herbert Melendez, Jr., 49, of Emmaus, was born Aug. 2, 1972 in Brooklyn, NY and died Aug. 27, 2021 in his home.  Herbie was a graduate of SUNY Empire State College and was continuing his education to become a psychologist to help those who suffer with addiction.  He worked in computer IT for NYC Transit and the Salvation Army.  He was very active in the AA Community, serving with the ABE Inter Group and was chair of hospitals, jails, and institutions.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 23 years, Tanya M.. (Castello) Melendez; parents, Herbert Melendez, Sr. and Mary Perez-Melendez; son, Gabriel Melendez; daughters, Julia Melendez and Madyson Melendez; brother, Paul Melendez; sister Cindy wife of brother-in-law, Isaac Mercado; mother-in-law, Theresa Semendoff; aunts, uncle, niece, and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Fri., Sept. 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM in West Valley Presbyterian Church, 1208 Brookside Rd., Wescosville.  Viewing Thurs. 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
