Kradjel
January 21, 1930 – April 7, 2024
Henry H. Kradjel, age 94, of Zionsville, passed away on April 7, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Linden, NJ, he was a son of the late Heinrich and Alma (Breisch) Kradjel. He was the loving husband of the late Janet V. (Fraser) Kradjel, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
He graduated from Rahway High School in 1947. After serving his country in the Army, he moved to Zionsville where he and his wife owned and operated Kradjel's Market for 30 years. He later worked as a Mail Carrier on rural routes serving Zionsville and surrounding areas. Henry's heart was deeply invested in serving his community. He dedicated himself to the betterment of Upper Milford Township as a Township Supervisor and as a member of the Township Planning Committee for over 40 years. Beyond his official roles, he was a dependable neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him in their times of need.
Henry is survived by children, Donna Michener and her husband Bob, Elaine Heiserman, Howard Kradjel and his wife Vera, and Susan Smith; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and brother, Donald Kradjel. He was predeceased by siblings, Martha Dalley, Ruth Clark and Paul Kradjel.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing will be held prior from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Upper Milford Mennonite Cemetery, 6450 Kings Highway South, Zionsville, PA 18092.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zionsville Area Food Pantry, P.O. Box 56, Old Zionsville, PA 18068-0200.
