Helen Mae Schmick, 101, longtime resident of Macungie, passed away June 23, 2026 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard A. Schmick. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Cora (Reese) Erney. Helen was a factory worker and also a waitress throughout her career. She was a member of Solomon’s U.C.C. Helen was a member of the Macungie VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years and a member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus. She enjoyed playing bingo, the lottery, and bus trips to Atlantic City.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Judith K. wife of Neil Schaffer; grandchildren, Gail wife of Anthony Struss and Ryan Schaffer and wife Melissa; great grandchildren, Molly, Colin, Andrew, and Sarah. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Schmick and 8 siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Thurs., July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Solomon’s Union Cemetery, Macungie.
