Obituary

Helen L. Rinker, 87, of Allentown, passed away peacefully January 4, 2015 in her residence. She was the widow of George J. Rinker (1998). Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Leo G.D. Wiemer, Sr. and Frances R. Wiemer. She was a registered nurse at the Allentown General Hospital from 1952 to 1980. Helen was a member of Emmaus Moravian Church, involved in Choir, Bell Choir, Sunday School Teacher and 50+ Club. She was also involved with the Unitas Chorale, Allentown Food Bank (Board Member and Volunteer), The Miller Blood Bank volunteer, member of Eastern Region Moravian Women, and the King's Daughters and Sons (local, county, & state levels). Survivors: Children, Kathy of Allentown, Paul (Norma) of Allentown, and Barbara of Catasauqua; Grandchildren, Tracy L., Herbert A. (Christine) Bender, and George N. (Jessica) all of Allentown; Great Grandchildren, Zackary, Hailey and Logan Bender and Paul T. Rinker. She was predeceased by Brother Leo G.D. Wiemer, Jr. and Sister Marie J. Wiemer. Services: Funeral Service Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Emmaus Moravian Church, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmaus Moravian Church, 148 Main St., Emmaus, PA 18049 to benefit the music department.
