Obituary

Helen K. Johnson Helen K. Johnson, 97, formerly of Emmaus, died March 27, 2011 in Luther Crest. She was the widow of the late Dr. Charles F. Johnson. Born in Richlandtown, she was the daughter of the late Darwin and Mary G. (Burgstresser) Kramer. She was a 1930 graduate of Quakertown High School and a 1934 Graduate of Allentown Nurses College. She and her husband established a medical practice in Emmaus and she was his associate there. She was a charter member and officer of the Womans Club of Emmaus, active in the Garden Club of Emmaus, past president of the Auxiliary to the Lehigh County Medical Society, organized the PEO " Chapter V, where she was a charter member, guard, chaplain, and president, and she was the oldest member of Lehigh Country Club. Her interests included traveling, golf, gardening, lapidary work, and being a wife and mother. Survivors: Sons, Charles F. Johnson, II and wife Charlotte of Winter Springs, FL and Thomas K. Johnson and wife Mary Ann of Allentown; 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Services: Memorial Services Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Rd., Allentown. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements. Private interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Spinnerstown.
