September 8, 1930 – February 15, 2025
Helen J. Breter, 94, of Country Meadows, Bethlehem, formerly of Kutztown and Alburtis, died Feb. 15, 2025 in St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Breter, who died on July 23, 2006. Born in Erie, she was the daughter of the late Frederick D. and Marcella L. (Schuetz) Garrison. Helen was a graduate of Academy High School, Erie. She worked in the payroll department at Kutztown University, worked for East Penn School District, and Bradford Area School District. Helen was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #336, Kutztown, East Penn Association of School Retirees, and Berks County Association of School Retirees.
Helen is survived by her son, Brian L. Breter and wife Sharon; daughter, Karen S. wife of Keith Follweiler; grandchildren, Matthew Breter, Kevin Breter and wife Andrea, Kathleen wife of Andrew Mashintonio, Keith Follweiler and wife Kelly, and Kolten Follweiler and wife Erin; great grandchildren, Bryce, Kayla, Donovan, Zoe, Jackson, Corey, Benjamin, Lindy, Emma, Maya, Connor, Hayley, and Annie. She was predeceased by grandchildren, Todd and Jennifer Breter.
Memorial services will be held on Sat. April 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA 18049. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in the church memorial garden. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
