Harvey Dean McGarry, Jr. Harvey Dean McGarry, Jr., 44, of Allentown, died peacefully February 26, 2011. Born in Ravenna, OH, he was the son of Laura (Dumont) and Harvey D. McGarry, Sr. He graduated at the top of his class in 1985 from Emmaus High School and was a 1989 cum laude graduate of the University of Delaware. He was a friend of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Emmaus. Harv proudly played football for the Emmaus Hornets and for his freshman year at Guilford College, NC. He was an ace salesperson and traveled extensively for several firms, and worked for 10 years in the travel field, both in Allentown and Washington DC. His last position was with Buy-Rite Equipment, Inc. in Allentown. He loved sports of every kind, but especially football, and was a fanatic Redskins and Ohio State University fan. His family and friends were his greatest pride and treasure, and his laughter and joy of life will remain his greatest gift to them. He was pre-deceased by his proud namesake and paternal grandparents Harvey D. and Arlene McGarry and maternal grandparents Ralph Dumont and Dorothy Toth.
