Gary L. Steckel, 77, of Macungie, died Sept. 8, 2018 in his residence. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert Steckel and Edna (Fenstermacher) Rooney.  He was a retired HVAC technician and an avid gardener with witty sense of humor.

Gary is survived by his Son, Timothy Steckel and wife Betty of Allentown; Daughter, Jana Steckel of Emmaus; Half Brothers, Randall Rooney, Jeffery Rooney & Duane Rooney; Half Sisters, Maieve Hartman, Eileen Kupcha, Colleen Nechetsky, Kathleen Wiragh.  He was predeceased by his brother, Kerry Steckel.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus.  Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
