Frederick R. Spaide, 96, formerly of Allentown, died August 21, 2023 in The Village at Lifequest. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick and Sarah (Geissinger) Spaide.  He was a graduate of Allentown High School.  He honorably served his country as a Sgt. In the Army during WWII.  Fred worked at several garages before joining Mack Trucks.  He had a TV business in the 1970's and had a private pilot's license.  He retired from Mack Trucks in 1986.  Fred traveled extensively and visited over 30 countries.  He was a member of Upper Milford Mennonite Church, where he held many positions including Bible teacher.

Frederick is survived by his sons, Dr. Richard Spaide and wife Chang and Randy Spaide; grandchildren, Theodore, Christopher, and Emily.  He is predeceased by a brother, Raymond Spaide and sisters, Dorothy Burkhardt and Jean P. Spaide.

Memorial services will be held on Fri., August 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.
