Francis A. Hartman Francis A. Hartman, 72, of Emmaus, died on July 16, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Betty Lou M. (Reppert) Hartman. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary June 22, 2010. Born in Emaus, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Dorothy R. (Reis) Hartman. He was a 1956 graduate of Emmaus High School. He worked for Lehigh Valley Dairy and later as a lineman for Bethlehem Steel for 23 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C., where he served on consistory and was a member of the property, cemetery, and 100th anniversary committees. He was a life member and president of the Emmaus Historical Society, member of Macungie Historical Society, Upper Milford Historical Society, Lower Macungie Twp. Historical Society, Lehigh County Historical Society, Coopersburg Historical Society, Lakehurst Naval Engineer Historical Society, the Shelter House, Knauss Homestead, Hemlock Hunting Club, Pike Twp. Sportsmans Association, past treasurer of the Upper Milford Field and Stream, the Mercantile Club of Emmaus, Emmaus Main Street Program, Emmaus VFW, and volunteered for the Goschenhoppen Folk Festival. He honorably served his country in the Air Force. Survivors: Wife; Stepmother, Lillian Hartman; Son, Terry A. Hartman and wife Susan; Brother, Larry Hartman and wife Cindy; Sister, Beverly Nothstein; Grandchildren, Jennifer wife of Dominick Giannotti and Jonathan Hartman, all of Emmaus. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald H. Hartman. Services: Funeral Services Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Old Zionsville U.C.C., Fountain Road and Kings Highway, Old Zionsville. Friends and Family may call Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
