Florence E. Esterly, 110, formerly of Reading, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 27, 2013 in Country Meadows. She was the widow of George E. Esterly. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Genevieve (Messmer) Raab. She was a full fashion looper for several knitting mills in Reading for 40 years, retiring in 1967. She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. Survivors: Daughter, Phyllis L. wife of William Grube of Allentown; Grandchildren, Sandra Oertwig, Randy Kerschner, William Grube, III, James Grube, Susanne Wall, Lois Bruno, and James Heffner ; 9 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jane C. (Heffner) Messmer and Granddaughter, Debra S. Agentis. Services: Viewing Sat., Jan. 4, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Prayer Service and interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
