Filomena S. Amaral, 85, of Emmaus, died Dec. 2, 2019 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Armenio Amaral. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose Agostinho and Carolina (Silva) Reis. She was a loving homemaker and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sewing and cooking were her favorite pastimes. A devout catholic, she attended St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus and prayed the rosary from morning to night.
Filomena is survived by her daughter, Maria Carmen wife of Manuel Rodrigues; grandchildren, Monica wife of Eric Torres and Marc Rodrigues and Pamela Gomez; great granddaughters, Olivia and Isabella Torres; sisters, Alice Rodrigues, Celeste DePinho, Emilia Reis, and Rosa Nunes; nieces and nephews, Maria Dos Anjos, Connie DePinho, Veronica Finkel, Ana Antunes, Agostinho DePinho, Frank DePinho, and Ester Wintergerst, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Dec. 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 South 6th Street, Emmaus. Viewing Friday 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus and Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
