Rezsek
May 30, 1928 – August 24, 2024
Eugene J. Rezsek, 96, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 24, 2024. He was the husband of the late Anne (Northup) Rezsek, an educator and school administrator. They were married 51 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William and Fannie (Klement) Rezsek. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary wife of the late Frank Dance of Allentown. His brother, William Rezsek, Jr. Seaman 1/c served aboard the U.S.S. Handock in the Pacific Theater and lost at sea during WWII. He graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High and the former Allentown Business College. He was a manager-trainee for McCroy stores in Allentown and Rahway, NJ. He was an associate of the former Allen Laundry, now Mary Macintosh Services for over 40 years before retiring. During those years, he was a salesman, route manager, and head of customer service department. In his last position with the company, he managed eight retail stores. Gene and Anne traveled extensively. They enjoyed fishing and the birds and animals of nature. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus and a member of the YMCA of Allentown.
Eugene is survived by his nieces, Jolan Hirshenhorn and Suzanne wife of Bruce Jones; grandniece, Kathleen wife of Steven Roosa; grandnephew, James Milkowich, Jr. and wife Dawn; best friend, Diane Wunderler. He was predeceased by a niece, Mary Ann Milkowich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Fri., Aug. 30, 2024 at 11:30 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church or a charity of choice.
