Emily M. Ruhf, 99, resident of Luther Crest Retirement Community, Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died on February 21, 2015. Born in Emmaus, on April 18, 1915, Emily was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Naamah J. (Reinhard) Laudenslager. She was a graduate of Emmaus High School and Allentown Business College and was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Union Church, Salisbury Township, where she was a member of the choir for many years. During her lifetime, Emily was a secretary for the Clerk of Quarter Sessions, Lehigh County, the State Department of Unemployment Compensation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture; was an active life member and former Assistant Treasurer of the Shelter House in Emmaus; was a charter member of the Woman's Club of Emmaus; and was a Girl Scout leader. Additionally, Emily was a member of Brookside Country Club for close to 60 years and she enjoyed being a volunteer at Luther Crest in their Gift Shop and as a coordinator of greeters for Sunday services for many years. Survivors: Emily was predeceased by her husband, Truman J. Ruhf, Jr. and is survived by her son, Thomas J. Ruhf and wife, Kay, granddaughters Charlotte Emily of Williamsburg, VA, and Katherine Ann Ledbetter and husband, Brian, great grandson William Oliver of Charleston, South Carolina; grandson, T. Jason Ruhf and wife, Nikki, and great grandson, Thomas John (Jack) of Beaufort, South Carolina; and her daughter, Roberta J. Henry and husband, Thomas Koerber, of Newton, Massachusetts.
