Elza Brachman, 86, of Macungie, died October 29, 2017 after a courageous several-year battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of Armand E. Brachman, Sr.  Born in Riga, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Antonia (Ziemelis) Adgers.  Elza was a driven professional in all her varied interests.  She was an accomplished career microbiologist.  She was an avid gardener and a member of the Emmaus Garden Club. Her landscaping and floral designs won accolades, including landing a Rodale book cover. While achieving so much personally, she provided love and support to all around her and reminded everyone to be fearless in their pursuits.

Survivors: Husband, Armand, Sr., a researcher with patents in various fields ; Sons, Armand E. Brachman, Jr. and wife Mary and Erik A. Brachman; Daughter, Dina Brachman wife of Neil Goldstein; Brother, Roland Adgers and wife Elvira; Grandchildren, Bret and Lara Brachman-Goldstein.
