Obituary

Vernon Nester, 88, formerly of Emmaus, died November 6, 2016 in Phoebe Allentown. He was the husband of the late Florence A. (Lorish) Nester. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mabel (Fegley) Nester. He worked as a draftsman for Kraft in Allentown for many years, retiring in 1990. Previously he worked as a welder for Superior Combustion, Emmaus. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Vernie's family, golfing, Indian Creek Golf Course, and the cabin at Lake Wynonna were some of the things that brought him great joy.

Survivors: Son, Dennis E. Nester and wife Debbie of Gettysburg; Daughter, Debra E. wife of Ronald Moyer of Orefield; Brothers, Raymond Nester and wife Ethel and Kermit Nester and wife Jean; Sisters, Annabelle Buss and Mae Wentz-Nicholas wife of Kenneth Nicholas; Brother-in-Law, Carl Lorish; Sister-in-Law, Millie Kohler; 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Douglas E. and Donald E. Nester and daughter, Donna E. Nester.

Services: Funeral Service Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at 1:30 PM in Old Zionsville U.C.C., Fountain Road and Kings Highway, Old Zionsville. Viewing 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Old Zionsville U.C.C. Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
