August 28, 1927 – December 27, 2021
Elfrieda Mary Fusco passed away peacefully on December 27th in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was 94 years old and had been a resident of Luther Crest in Allentown, PA. for 14 years. She was the wife of the late Peter R. Fusco who died in 2007. They were married for 58 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Franz and Frieda Boehnke.
Elfrieda and Pete raised their four daughters in Holliswood, NY. Elfrieda was kind, caring and family centered. She was hard working, too, whether it was cooking for large family gatherings, caring for her mom or in-laws, volunteering in her community or painting the outside of the house. Elfrieda will always be remembered for her love, generosity and positive outlook. She saw the best in everyone and led a life of gratitude. She will be greatly missed.
Elfrieda leaves four daughters and sons-in-law: Ellen Gaglio (Larry Gaglio), of Richmond, Virginia; Carolyn Porta (Ronald Porta), of White Plains, NY; Elizabeth Fusco (Joseph DiProspero), of Longboat Key, FL; and Vivian Fusco Ramirez (Louis Ramirez), of Macungie, PA. She also leaves her grandchildren (Alex Porta, (Lacie Zassman Porta) of Greenpoint, NY; Andy Porta, (Diana Salas Porta) of Portland, ME; Carla Ramirez of Columbus, OH; and Philip Ramirez, of Manhattan, and a great grandchild Luna Jade Porta, of Portland, ME).
Services: A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 17 th at 11am at St. Ann's in Emmaus. Family and friends are invited to call 10-11am. Those in attendance will kindly be asked to wear a face covering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church or the charity of one's choice. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
