Eleanor T. Sweeney Eleanor T. Sweeney, 90, formerly of Allentown, died Sept. 2, 2011 in Lehigh Center. She was the widow of John W. Sweeney. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Taschner) Harell. She was a secretary for Sacred Heart Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, Dr. Earl K. Sipes, and Dr. John Wapner, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. Survivors: Son, John W. Sweeney, Jr. and wife Brenda A. of Emmaus; Daughter, Sandra L. wife of Robert J. S. Barette of Macungie; Sister, Ethel Moyer of Allentown; 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Services: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., Sept. 8, 2011 at 6:00 PM in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexor Ave., Allentown.
