Eleanor L. Long, 90, of Emmaus, died peacefully May 13, 2025 in her home. She was the wife of the late Emory J. Long. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna (Spreckleman) Heussmann. Eleanor was an accountant who worked at Semmel Excavating prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. Eleanor was a talented oil painter. She enjoyed serving others and she impacted the lives of many individuals. She loved her golden retrievers and family was extremely important to her, especially her grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Kristina Ann and her husband Robin R. Schuster of Emmaus; grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Scott Kiernan of Hershey, Justin Long and wife Meagan of Denver, CO, Sarah Schuster of Denver, CO, and Jared Schuster of Emmaus; great grandchildren, SJ, Finley, and Zoey Kiernan. She was predeceased by sons, Terence Bruce Long and Daryl Shawn Long.
A funeral service will be held on Sat., May 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. John's Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Coopersburg. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church or to Animals in Distress, 5075 Limeport Pike, Coopersburg, PA 18036.
