Edward J. George Edward J. Eddie George, 63, of Emmaus, died January 31, 2008 in Central Montgomery Medical Center. He was the husband of Carol A. (Flexer) George. They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in June 2007. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Paul A. and Florence A. (Bittenbender) George. He worked for the Borough of Emmaus in the Public Works Department from 1970 to 1992. He was a member of the Emmaus Moravian Church, where he was a member of the former Willing Workers Peanut Gang, was a member of the Sacristan Corp., and was superintendent of the church cemetery. He honorably served his country in the Navy. He was a life member of Emmaus Fire Co. #1, member of Citizens Fire Co. #2 Emmaus, member of the Emmaus 4th Alarmers, life member of the former Emmaus Nest of Owls, was an active with the Emmaus Fire Company from 1970 to 1992, and was a member of the board of directors for the Firemans Relief Association. Survivors: Wife; Son, Christopher George and wife Deborah of Hubert, NC; Stepson, Andrew Schmick and wife Becky of Emmaus; Stepdaughter, Melissa wife of Todd Heckman of Emmaus; Brother, Carl George of Fogelsville; Sister, Mary Jiles of Allentown; Grandchildren, Alex and Justin Schmick and Haley and Elijah Heckman. Services: Funeral Services Monday, February 4, 2008 at 1:30 PM in Emmaus Moravian Church, 146 Main Street, Emmaus.
