Edgar L. Hoffman Edgar L. Hoffman, 97, of Allentown, died on July 16, 2010 in Liberty Nursing Home. He was the husband of Althea M. (Siegfried) Hoffman. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in September 2009. Born in Steelton, he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Hoffman. He was a sewing machine mechanic for the former Charis Corp. for 20 years and the former South Manufacturing for 10 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church, Emmaus. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII, where he was part of D-Day invasion, earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, and was a POW. Survivors: Wife; Son, Edward S. Hoffman of Allentown; Brother, Donald Hoffman of Oregon; Nieces and Nephews. Services: Private at the convenience of the family. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.
