Obituary

Earl M. "Bud" Mitchell, 96, of Salisbury Twp., died June 26, 2014 in Devon House. He was the widower of Valvertta "Verty" N. (Williams) Mitchell. Born in Port Huron, MI, he was the son of the late James E. and Eilene (Marks) Mitchell. After working for both the Ford Motor Company and Vickers, he settled in with General Motors Corporation in Warren, Michigan, proudly working for GM for 35 years before retiring to Florida in 1979. Bud honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII, stationed in the South Pacific. With his quick wit and humor he entertained and endeared all who met him and his passion for auto racing, flying and sailing was contagious. Survivors: Son, Delmer L. Mitchell and wife Sue of New Port Richie, FL; Daughter, April M. wife of Greg Umlauf of Emmaus; 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Gibbons.
