Dorothy L. Powell, 92, of Emmaus, died Dec. 22, 2018 at Lehigh Commons. Dorothy (aka Dottie or Dot) was born in Emmaus to Sarah and John Brey on August 3, 1926. She went to high school at Emmaus High School and graduated in 1944 and served as class secretary for 73 years. She also worked as a secretary/administrative assistant at Lehigh Valley Dairy and then as an executive secretary at Air Products and Chemicals in Trexlertown. She enjoyed movies, reading, creating ceramics, painting and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Emmaus Historical Society.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband William T. Powell (marriage of 57 years), daughter Jane O'Leary, her parents, Sarah and John; her four brothers Elwood, David and John and her sister Anna. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Anne (Tasha) Powell of Manhattan Beach, CA.

Memorial Services will be held on Sat., Dec. 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus with Rev. Lyn Langkamer of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Northwood Cemetery. Condolences may be left in Dorothy's online guestbook at www.schantzfh.com.
