Dorothy R. Portz Dorothy R. Portz, 92, of Coopersburg, formerly of Emmaus, died December 11, 2009 in St Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Philip R. Portz with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Vandergrift) Rhodes. She was a medical secretary for the former Dr. John Pfromm for many years. She was a member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Allentown. Her main hobby was sewing and she was a past president of the Lehigh Valley Couturiere Society Survivors: Son, David P. Portz and his wife Beverly of Flagler Beach, FL; Daughter, S. Jane wife of Abner Merkel of Bethlehem; Grandchildren, Donna Williams, Ryan Ott, Andrew and Adam Portz, Shelly Gross, John Merkel, Ann Merkel Burke and 8 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Carol S. Laury. Services: Graveside Services Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Greenwood Cemetery,2010 Chew Street, Allentown.
