Dorothy Karas Dorothy Karas, 93, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Sept. 1, 2010 in the Phoebe Home. She was the widow of the late Fred F. Karas. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Wirska) Butelewicz. She was a very gifted seamstress throughout her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Lake Silkworth. Survivors: Son, Fred M. Karas of Rock Hill, SC; Daughter, Suzanne wife of James Colligas of Macungie; Brother, Leonard Butelewicz of Long Island, NY; Sister, Irene Piech of Florida; 3 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Stephanie S. Colligas. Services: Funeral Services Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie.
