Dorothy A. Hixson, 91, of Emmaus, died May 24, 2014 in Lehigh Commons. She was the widow of Harold C. Hixson. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Giles) Humenik. She was a 1939 graduate of Moravian College. After raising her children, Dorothy retrained as a medical technologist, working for the former Allentown Hospital and became the administrative head of the laboratory. She was a member of Emmaus Moravian Church, where she was a member of the choir and the woman's fellowship. She was a member of the Emmaus Garden Club, LVHN retirees club, and member of the Moravian College Alumni Association. Survivors: Son, Boyd G. Hixson and wife Cheryl of Coplay; Daughter, Jane E. Hixson of Reston, VA; Grandson, Jonathan G. Hixson and wife Jill and 2 Great Grandchildren. Services: Funeral Services Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 9:30 AM in Emmaus Moravian Church, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery.
