Doris L. Kunkel, 90, formerly of Emmaus, died August 8, 2016 in the Phoebe Home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Paul F. Kunkel, with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of William J. and Burnetta K. (Smith) Leh. Doris was a graduate of Cedar Crest College and Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She was proud of her nursing degree and her ability to help others throughout her life. She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, serving on the altar guild. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Mom loved chocolate, dogs, roller coasters, seashells and being a Grandmother. We miss her family dinners, and will miss her love and support. Special thanks to Laura Corby, who helped care for Mom during the past 3 years.

Survivors: Husband; Son, Douglas C. Kunkel and wife Bonnie of Renton, WA; Daughter, Nanette C. wife of Robert Dudley of Cottonwood Heights, UT; Grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Dudley.

Services: Memorial Services Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown, PA 18103. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Zion's Union Church Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
