Donald F. Schaffer Donald F. Schaffer, 87, of Emmaus, died Dec. 27, 2010 in his residence. He was the husband of Dorris A. (Hennemuth) Schaffer. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in Sept. Born in Emaus, he was the son of the late Frank B. and Virgie M. (Hawk) Schaffer. He was a Brick Builder in the Refractory Dept. of the former Superior Combustion, Emmaus, for 30 years retiring in 1985. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 191, Emmaus, the Mercantile Club, the Emmaus Historical Society, the Shelter House, AARP of Macungie, served as Assistant Scout Master of Troup 56, and served as Explorer Advisor for Troup 56. Survivors: Wife; Sons, John F. Schaffer and wife Donna of Grand Forks, ND and James E. Schaffer, Sr. and wife Nancy of Emmaus; 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
