Donald K. Holtzman Donald K. Holtzman, 86, formerly of Emmaus and Allentown, died April 13, 2008 in Community Hospice, Jacksonville, FL. He was the widower of the late Mary Louise (Graham) Holtzman. Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late James C. and Alda (Hillegass) Holtzman. He was a 1943 graduate of Gettysburg College. He was the owner of Holtzman Petroleum Company, Emmaus for 48 years, retiring in 1985. He was elected President of the PA Petroleum Association from 1970 to 1972. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown, where he served as president of the Mens Association, president of the Board of Deacons, and served as a trustee for six years. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. After serving in the Navy from February 1943 to February 1946, he was honorably discharged as a lieutenant. During the landing at Normandy, he was stationed aboard an LCI and supervised the passing of amphibious craft to and from the beach. Later, he spent some time aboard the aircraft carrier Boxer in the Yellow Sea of China, and received several Letters of Commendation during his hitch. Survivors: Daughters, Barbara wife of William Rush of Bangor, Sandra Churchman of St. Augustine, FL, and Martha wife of Stephen Hall of Greer, SC; 7 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren.
